SEOUL, Korea (April 28, 2015) – Korean Air will provide relief goods to those affected by the earthquake in Kathmandu, Nepal. Goods being delivered to the country include 24,000 bottles of mineral water, 2,000 blankets, dried rice and other food materials.
The relief goods will be delivered through Korean Air’s flight over the next few weeks. Furthermore, Korean Air also plans to collect donations from its employees such as clothing and daily necessity goods.
As a leading global carrier, Korean Air has a strong commitment to helping with relief efforts in times of need. In the aftermath of the Sichuan earthquake in 2008, Korean Air dispatched a special cargo flight to transport blankets and mineral water to the quake zone.
The carrier also made donations of relief goods such as 90,000 liters of mineral water and 2,000 blankets to the victims of the earthquake in the northeast province of Japan in March 2011 and 60,000 liters of mineral water, 60,000 noodle cups, 24,000 of dried rice and 2,000 blankets to the Philippines to aid those affected by Typhoon Haiyan.
